The Pershing Doughboys are a professional basketball team located in Pershing County, Nevada. They compete in The Basketball League (TBL), which is a minor league basketball league. The Doughboys are a relatively new team, having been founded in 2019. However, they have quickly become one of the most popular teams in the league.
The Doughboys got their nickname from General John J. Pershing, who commanded the American Expeditionary Force during World War I. The Doughboys were the nickname given to American soldiers during the war, and the team adopted the name to honor their service.
