Coachella Arabs

Coachella Arabs

The Coachella Arabs, formerly known as the Coachella Valley Arabs, were a high school sports team from Coachella, California. The team's name was chosen in 1929 when the school was founded. The Arabs name was a nod to the area's rich agricultural heritage, as Arabian horses are known for their speed, agility, and endurance.

However, in 2017, the school district decided to change the team's name to the Coachella Rams, citing concerns that the Arabs name was offensive to some people. The change was met with mixed reactions from the community, with some people supporting the decision and others opposing it.
