Colorado 14ers

Colorado 14ers

The Colorado 14ers basketball team was a minor league team that played in the NBA Development League from 2006 to 2011. The team was the affiliate of the Denver Nuggets. The team moved to Frisco, Texas in 2011 and became the Texas Legends.

The Colorado 14ers are a group of 58 mountain peaks in the state of Colorado that exceed 14,000 feet (4,267 meters) in elevation. They are a popular destination for climbers and hikers from all over the world.

The 14ers are located in all parts of Colorado, but the majority are found in the Rocky Mountains. The highest peak in Colorado, Mount Elbert, is also one of the 14ers.

The nickname "14ers" is simply a reference to the fact that these mountains are over 14,000 feet in elevation. It is a relatively new nickname, as the first 14er was not climbed until 1869.
