Ambridge Bridgers

The Ambridge Bridgers are the athletic teams of Ambridge Area High School in Ambridge, Pennsylvania. The Bridgers compete in the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association (PIAA) Western Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic League (WPIAL) Class 3A.

The Bridgers nickname is a reference to the Ambridge–Aliquippa Toll Bridge, which connects Ambridge to Aliquippa, Pennsylvania. The bridge is one of the busiest bridges in the Pittsburgh area, and it is a symbol of the connection between Ambridge and Aliquippa.
