Vermont Frost Heaves

Vermont Frost Heaves

The Vermont Frost Heaves were a professional basketball team that played in the American Basketball Association (ABA) from 2006 to 2008, and the Premier Basketball League (PBL) from 2008 to 2010. The team was based in Barre, Vermont, and Burlington, Vermont, and played their home games at the Auditorium (at Barre) and the Memorial Auditorium (at Burlington).

The team's name was a reference to the frost heaving soil displacement known to affect colder climates. Frost heaving occurs when water in the soil freezes and expands, pushing the soil upwards. This can damage foundations, roads, and other infrastructure.
