2023 Hawaii Warriors Football Preview

2022 Record: 3-10 overall, 2-6 in Mountain West
Head Coach: Timmy Chang, 2nd year: 3-10

2023 Hawaii Rainbow Warriors Football Preview

The Hawaii Rainbow Warriors are looking to build on a 5-7 record in 2022. The team returns a number of key players, including quarterback Timmy Chang, running back Tylan Hines, and wide receiver Jonah Panoke.

Chang is a dual-threat quarterback who threw for 2,336 yards and 16 touchdowns in 2022. He also rushed for 449 yards and four touchdowns. Hines is a powerful running back who rushed for 634 yards and two touchdowns last season. Panoke is a big-play receiver who caught 50 passes for 727 yards and four touchdowns.

The defense will be led by defensive back Cam Stone, who transferred from Wyoming. Stone had 10 pass breakups and two interceptions in 2022. Defensive lineman John Tuitupou, linebacker Logan Taylor, and safety Peter Manuma all return and will play integral roles in the defense in 2023.

The Rainbow Warriors have a challenging schedule in 2023. They will face Mountain West opponents Boise State, Fresno State, and San Diego State. They will also play non-conference games against Michigan, BYU, and Utah State.

Despite the tough schedule, the Rainbow Warriors have the potential to be a bowl team in 2023. They have a talented offense and a strong defense. If they can stay healthy and play consistently, they could win six or seven games.

Prediction

I predict that the Hawaii Rainbow Warriors will win 6-7 games in 2023. They have the talent to be a bowl team, but they will need to stay healthy and play consistently. The schedule is challenging, but the Rainbow Warriors have a chance to make some noise in the Mountain West.
